Saw this quote and just had to blog it. Thought it very poignant in this time where so many libraries in the UK are being forced to close due to government cuts.
"Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries."
— Anne Herbert

LOVES it! I wrote a post a month ago about the sadness going on with libraries. I wish people appreciated them more.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too. It is sad libraries are closing. We are lucky as our's is safe at the moment. I went to the World Book Night in London and Phillip Pullman described the closure of libraries as "Cruelty to Children" and he could be right. Maybe they should push for books to be donated if they are up to date and good quality. I always try and donate books if I can.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the quote! I don't know what I'd do without my library!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin. Me neither. I think it's disgusting they are closing them down.
