"This little story, which is actually my favourite, happened to a lamb that had a difficult delivery. As I had already wrote Book One about sheep I decided to substitute the lamb with a calf. The local sheep farmer was delighted with my husband’s handy work of putting a Plaster of Paris splint on the lamb’s broken leg. The lamb made a perfect recovery."

MY REVIEW

I am loving these childrens books. I can't believe that they are based on real life incidents as they are just so innocent.

This book is about Maisie the Calf who is injured, and how Policeman Pete helps her. Once again it has delightful illustrations and I just know that any young child will fall in love with them.

The writing itself is perfect for maybe perfect for pre-school children, and the illustrations bring the story to life too, making it a lovely read. It's certainly a great series of books to collect.

"Friends of the family have a Hermann Tortoise, he is a great adventurer and does often disappear. He can usually be found in the garden hedgerow or the flower beds. He is a great character."

MY REVIEW

This cosy little story is about the Headmistress of the local school, Miss Lucy, finding a Tortoise slowly crossing the road. The story talks about the Tortoise and it teaches children about them, and how to identify how old they are. It's about how the children help find who the Tortoise belongs too. With this book I found that it's slightly more educational than the other books that I've read by the author.

Once again gorgeous illustrations that I know children will adore as it really brings the book alive.

These books need to be shared as they are wonderful little books.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

"With the children now grown and away at University I began to look forward to the "Retirement Years". The farm was too big for just my husband and I to manage. With this in mind I remembered with love the wonderful times and the little dramas that had happened in and around the farm and villages.
Putting pen to paper I began to write down the little happenings involving the various animals that had occurred over the years, this was purely done for my own benefit and for any future grandchildren that I may have.
Many months later my daughter, by chance read the stories and found them delightful, so much so that she encouraged me to share them with others.
