SYNOPSIS
- The shivering sheep have lost their woolly coats and the chilly chickens are without their feathers!

The greedy king believes he can take whatever he wants, but the farmer thinks it’s about time he was taught a lesson – and it comes from a very unlikely source….

This delightful rhyming picture book will have children laughing and counting along as the ungrateful king is made to see the error of his ways

MY REVIEW

This is a beautifully illustrated book, with the story told in rhyme. The rhyming makes it a really good read.

It is about a greedy king who always wants something for nothing. I think we may all know someone like that. The poor fed up farmer, offers to give him all the animals for a fee.......

The story continues and brings in numbers to the mix, with wonderful illustrations to match the number, enabling you to count along with your little person whilst the story is told.

The book has a great moral at the end, which I think young people will understand in their own way.

All in all a great read and superbly illustrated. A must read for your young person.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sarah lives in Holmfirth, which she fell in love with after graduating from University where she studied Criminology. She is married with two small boys and a little girl, and thrives off the fun and chaos of her home life!

Sarah has always loved to write, but her desire to publish a children’s book began when she had her first child. She loves to create stories that will capture a child’s imagination and make them want to keep turning the pages. Sarah told us, “If I could inspire kids to read and writers to write, that would be an amazing place to be.”

Sarah’s first book, The King and The Cockerel, is a lively rhyming picture book aimed at young readers aged 5 and under. It incorporates wonderful humour and counting practice with an important message of fairness and appreciation. Sarah is now hard at work on her second children’s book, Molly’s Magic Brolly.

As well as writing children’s books, Sarah is currently working on her first book club novel. She is also a regular columnist for Mumbles Magazine, West Yorkshire.
